AL-QUDS (IQNA) – The Zionist regime has imposed extensive restrictions on the presence of female Quran teachers at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem Al-Quds, according to a report.

The restrictions are aimed at ending Quranic circles and Quran teaching at the holy site, Al Jazeera reported.

The Qatar-based news network has produced a documentary about the issue, in which female Quran teachers talk about organized attempts by Israel at restricting their Quranic activities at the mosque.

Muntaha Abu Sanina, one of these women, says she has learned the Quran and acquired the needed certificate for teaching the Quran.

The Zionist forces have arrested and interrogated her three times for teaching the Quran at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Abu Sanina says the Zionists objected to her chanting Allahu Akbar (God is great), claiming she has intimidated Israeli settlers (who illegally enter the Muslim holy site every now and then) by doing it.

Zaynab al-Jallad is another Quran teacher who has been banned from entering Al-Aqsa and attending Quranic circles there.

She says there is huge interest in learning the Quran among Muslim youths in al-Quds and this has worried the Zionist regime’s officials.

Quran teaching courses are offered at Al-Aqsa Mosque at three levels with the aim of raising a generation familiar with the teachings of the Holy Quran.
